Maximise Your EV Invest and Charge the Smart Way with Free Solar Power too
As you will have noticed from cars on the road, the increase in electric vehicles (EV) adoption vs traditional internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles is well underway in the UK. With better vehicle choice, improved range, shortened charging times and better understanding of e-mobility technology too, as well as of course, the environmental perspective, the transition to EV travel is rapidly becoming more attractive. We are seeing three types of EV currently on our roads - Battery electric vehicle (BEV) - Plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) and Extended range electric vehicle (E-REV) - BUT whatever the EV type, drivers will be going nowhere fast, unless utilities make it possible for them to plug in rather than fill up.
Even though the UK Government passed legislation (in 2022) stating that all new homes will need to have an EV charging point installed - it is still currently the lack of public EV charging infrastructures that seems to be one of the main challenges for consumers wishing to switch to an EV - so this is where our expertise comes in ... we are now dealing with increasing requests to instal both private EV chargepoints in homes as well as shared EV chargepoints for residential areas and commercial premises, often with solar panels and battery storage integration for smart charging, which reduces charging cost by using free, clean, solar generated energy and increases the rate of return on investment on both the physical e-vehicle, the EV chargepoint, the solar panels and the solar energy storage battery system.
(We are an engineering company - we DO NOT emply salespeople)
We can conduct a professional assessment of the suitability of your property for an EV chargepoint, including the adequacy of the electricity supply. We can also help to assess your energy consumption profile, and provide recommendations for the optimum system size of solar panels to not only help charge your EV for free, but reduce your energy bills, then design a system to your exact specifications. Our survey will provide costs and estimated savings also, without any obligation needed on the day from you.
The Electric Vehicle (EV) Chargepoint grant (operated by Office for Zero Emission Vehicles) allows people who live in rental accommodation or own a flat to reduce the cost of buying and installing a home charger by £350 or 75% off the cost to buy and install a socket, whichever amount is lower. You can read more here:
For rented premises - landlords and property managers may be able to claim an additional £500 per bay towards the cost of installing infrastructure for you and your neighbours via the EV infrastructure grant for residential car parks, This grant will reduce the impact on your Service Charge budget and may help to convince your neighbours that EV infrastructure is a priority for your property.
EV charging point offer - with solar panel options too
Charging your electric car or motorbike with solar energy is also becoming an increasingly popular option. Although all EV chargers are able to use electricity generated from solar panels, they only consume this after the house has taken all the electricity it needs. So having a solar energy storage battery too will make life easier.
DID YOU KNOW : that after comparing 1,000 house prices across 50 UK areas, one study revealed that homes with an EV chargepoint installed typically sold for for more than the local average too - East Anglia fared well in the findings !
Our prices make adding an EV charing point to your home or business premises ! Look at our example pricing offers :
... EV Charging points from £1200
... A 3.2kw Trina solar PV panel system from £5400
... With a solar energy battery storage system from £9995
... Add a solar iboost water heating diverter from £595
All prices quoted are as supplied and installed. Panels include a 15 year warranty
From April 2022 to 2027, solar panels are VAT exempt to homeowner purchases
A solar panel installation on a typical residential roof would take no longer than two days but can often be completed in one day. Slate roofs require more care to be taken so can take a little longer. It will take around an additional 3-4 hours to install a solar energy storage battery to the solar panel system.
EV charging and EV smart charging ... where, when and how - frequently asked questions.
When adapting to an EV, drivers need to stop considering gallons or litres of fuel , but think in terms of kilowatts, also when using an electric car chargepoint, the different types of connectors, the compatibility with their EV, and different charging rates. This may all seem complicated, but it’s actually quite easy to get to grips with. As a primer to the many frequently asked questions we have developed this guide to EV chargepoints and EV smart charging.
